This is the same as the WestWind “Live in Buenos Aires, 1979, Vol.1” - not to be confused with the similarly titled one from 1973. Four of the tracks are mislabeled but they are the same as on the West Wind, Vol.1. There is a lot of tape hiss and what sounds suspiciously like LP surface noise. This is mostly annoying during soft passages with the noise even covering up brushes on snare. The bass sounds pretty good but the drums are fuzzy. The piano is too bright and too forward. The high notes are especially brutal and accents are often accompanied by a burst of distortion. I wouldn’t say awful sound, but poor. The performance is another matter. However you can also get an excellent performance of most of the same material, by the same band, two months later, on “The Paris Concert” which has much better recording quality.
